got patterned paper scraps?

hey there! it's samantha m here and today i'm sharing a really fun layout i created!
i was thinking about the challenge that just ended:

ah yes, patterned paper! i think it's safe to say we ALL love patterned paper! ha ha! and like others, i am a patterned paper hoarder! i'm not kidding when i say that i keep a LOT of scraps! and i even keep all of those tiny strips from the tops of many 6x6 paper pads. you know the ones i mean, right?
here's a quick picture of 'strip' stash! lol!

anyway, now that my dirty little secret is out, i decided to (finally!!) put them to good use! i made a layout! here it is:

i used reds, greens, greys, and few aqua's from my 6x6 top strips and made a border along the edge! so FUN!!! i even stamped the 'be merry' sentiment from lawn fawn's, peace joy love stamp set onto the bottom red strip of paper.

the picture is from last christmas when all the menn of the house decided to 'help' put up christmas lights! LOVE this picture! and there's something about the ladder and the strips of paper that work well together (to me, at least!)!

i also heat embossed in white some of the snowflakes from peace joy love to add some subtle texture. the love sentiment was stamped directly onto the glycene bag and then i carefully added color to the leaves with some copics. (it doesn't look like i used much lawn fawn, but i did! i used 7 of the images from 'peace joy love' alone! lol!)

at the top by the title, i fussy cut out the cutest little bird image EVER and popped it up for dimension!
i finished the layout with the date from say cheese too, and the wonderful, awesome, amazing, FUN flair!!

so that's it! if you were inspired to use your scraps on your next lawnscaping project, let me know in the comments! i would LOVE to check out your works! i'm always looking to be inspired!
in the mean time, rest up, and enjoy your weekend...because the next challenge starts on monday, and it's AMAZING!
enjoy!
